Seattle - Guide for Gays, Lesbians and Queers

Most of Seattle's queer bars sit on Capitol Hill, around Broadway, Pike Street and Pine Street, with a few more in nearby neighborhoods. For dancing, many people end up at Neighbours, 1509 Broadway. It is considered the oldest LGBTQ+ club still operating in the city, with two levels, several bars and regular drag shows.

The Cuff Complex at 1533 13th Avenue is a men's bar with a dance floor, a patio and a pool table, and its crowd runs from young to well past fifty. Leather and fetish fans tend to head to the Seattle Eagle at 314 East Pike Street. A short walk away, at 1118 East Pike Street, Unicorn is a loud, circus-themed bar with drag brunch and a basement bar called Narwhal. A fire in the building closed it for a few months, and it has since reopened.

Bears and bikers meet at Diesel, 1413 14th Avenue in the Central District, a no-frills beer bar. Downtown, Kremwerk on Minor Avenue runs electronic music and DJ nights in a basement club with a queer crowd. Further out in Wallingford, Changes on North 45th Street is a neighborhood pub with karaoke and pool.

The city has two bathhouses: Steamworks at 1520 Summit Avenue on the edge of Capitol Hill, and Club Z at 1117 Pike Street downtown, a large spa on several floors. Cal Anderson Park, in the middle of Capitol Hill, is named after the first openly gay member of the Washington State Legislature and is a popular daytime spot for picnics and sports.
