Neu-Ulm sits on the right bank of the Danube, opposite Ulm, and is the administrative seat of the district of the same name in the Swabia region of Bavaria. The river is also the border between Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, but in daily life the two towns work like one shared centre. The same goes for queer life. Neu-Ulm has no scene of its own with bars, cafés or saunas.

The association is a good way to make contacts and to hear about groups and meetings in the region.

Other groups, meeting places and counselling services are concentrated in neighbouring Ulm. These are easy to reach from Neu-Ulm, since the two town centres are only a short walk apart across the Danube.

If you are new to the area and looking for company, the Pride association and the contacts in Ulm are the best starting points. Do not expect commercial gay venues in Neu-Ulm, and be careful with listings that appear online without an address or an organiser behind them. Nightlife and most community life happen on the other side of the river.
