Augsburg's queer venues are fewer than earlier versions of this text claimed, but the ones that do exist are real. Bars such as Beim Weissen Lamm, Circus, and Oki's Bistro und Bar draw a regular queer crowd and keep consistent opening hours, nothing like Munich's scene, but more than the city's reputation suggests.

The Kresslesmühle, a well-known socio-cultural center, appears in older texts as the host of a recurring “Queer Fridays” night; a documented, ongoing queer party series there couldn't be confirmed at this time. Anyone hoping for queer programming should check directly with the venue rather than assuming a fixed weekly date.

Larger, dedicated gay clubs or saunas under specific names, as named in earlier versions of this text, could not be verified. The scene organizes more around the bars listed above and around the association Queer Augsburg e.V., which adds its own events and networking, largely independent of the bars themselves.

For anything Augsburg's own scene doesn't cover, Munich offers a considerably wider choice of clubs and saunas, just a short S-Bahn ride away. Within Augsburg itself, the combination of a handful of reliable bars and the work of Queer Augsburg e.V. remains the core of the scene.
