Gay Saunas in Germany

Germany has 38 of the saunas listed here, and almost all of them are located in large cities. Cologne leads with four houses, Berlin and Munich follow with three each; in smaller towns there is usually exactly one, and the next one is an hour's drive away.

The stock is shrinking noticeably: Nine more German saunas are permanently closed. For every 38 open ones, there is almost one in four that no longer exists — if you look for an address from memory, you often won't find it anymore.

For weekend planning, this means that the trip is more worthwhile to one of the big cities, where several houses exist next to each other and you can change if necessary.

Below the metropolises, however, the stock is holding up better than expected. Oldenburg and Stuttgart each have two hotels, and medium-sized cities have also retained their addresses. It is then the only one — if it is omitted, the nearest sauna is a drive away.
