Gay Hotels in Germany

Gay hotels are not spread evenly. They cluster where a scene already exists — fourteen in Maspalomas alone, thirteen in Cologne. Most people pick the destination first and the house second. This page turns that around and lists every venue by city, with a map.

27 hotels in 8 cities

The German stock is a special case: Of 27 houses, 13 are in Cologne. That is almost half, and no other country is so concentrated in a single city. Berlin follows with four houses, Munich with three.

Cologne owes this to its scene around Rudolfplatz, where hotels, bars and saunas are within walking distance. If you book there, you don't need a taxi for the evening — which is different in Berlin, where the scene is spread over several districts.

Outside of these three cities, it gets thin. In many big cities there is no designated gay hotel, but gay friendly houses that are not run here.

On the other hand, the stock is stable. Among the 27 German hotels, not a single one is permanently closed — a clear difference to the saunas and cruising addresses, where one in four and more than one in three addresses have been lost, respectively.
