Cruising & Darkrooms in Spain

Spain's 27 cruising addresses are more evenly distributed than elsewhere. Madrid and Maspalomas lead with five each, Barcelona follows with four, plus Sitges and Torremolinos with two each — the classic destinations, and none of them dominates.

The difference to Germany is not so much in the number as in the type. A large proportion of Spanish addresses are attached to holiday destinations, and there the season is shifting noticeably: in winter there is more going on in Gran Canaria than in midsummer, on the Mediterranean coast it is the other way around.

In the holiday centres, the addresses are often close to each other, sometimes in the same shopping centre. The path from one to the next is then shorter than the search for the first.

Taken together, the five largest towns bear 18 of the 27 addresses. The rest are distributed individually over smaller towns, and the same applies there as everywhere: the only address in a place is also the one whose continued existence is least assured.
