Säule is the third dance floor within the Berghain and Panorama Bar building complex, housed on the ground floor of the former power station. Massive concrete pillars, which give the floor its name, define the space and create a more open, classically club-like atmosphere than the two better-known floors above.
Musically, Säule serves as an experimental field for lesser-known, often avant-garde electronic sounds outside mainstream techno. The floor can be entered separately or connected with the building's other areas - Berghain, Panorama Bar and Lab.Oratory.
For regulars of the complex, Säule answers the question of a third, distinct facet of sound within the same building: more stripped-back, edgier and more focused on music and dancing than the rest of the house.
