KTS 13 is a self-organised caravan site in Berlin's Plänterwald district, close to Treptower Park, run as a collectively managed cultural and living project. Several initiatives share the grounds: an open metal workshop, a rehearsal room for music, an anti-racist garden project, and a solidarity kitchen that cooks on a regular basis. The place runs on a DIY ethos and a left-leaning, solidarity-driven spirit that carries through all its sub-projects.
For the queer scene, KTS 13 is best known for "Gaybar", a monthly solidarity bar for queers and friends with cheap drinks, free entry and a changing music programme. The caravan site as a whole does not run a dedicated queer concept, but with "Gaybar" it has a fixed, recurring event that offers queer partying in a relaxed, non-commercial setting.
