Kater Blau is one of the central clubs of the Holzmarkt area on the banks of the Spree in Berlin-Friedrichshain, a cooperatively run urban quarter of workshops, studios, food venues and music rooms. The club grew out of its legendary predecessor Kater Holzig and carries on its improvised, playful character.
Winding rooms, changing stage designs and a program spanning electronic music, live concerts and performances make every visit different from the last. Its closeness to the Spree and the open, creative atmosphere of the whole area set Kater Blau apart from classic techno clubs.
