About Schlachthaus

On Schlachthausstraße in Tübingen, on the site of the former municipal slaughterhouse, an event space with its own character has grown over the years: the Schlachthaus. The building has kept its industrial shell, and that rawness still shapes the mood at concerts, theatre nights, cabaret and club evenings held there.
Within the region's queer community, the Schlachthaus is best known for the LuSchT party, held there every quarter. Run by a volunteer group, it brings together Tübingen's queer scene and its guests under a different theme each time, with proceeds going to projects run by Aidshilfe Tübingen-Reutlingen.
Between its cultural programme and its regular queer parties, the Schlachthaus has become one of the venues shaping Tübingen's nightlife beyond the usual student scene, a building that never fully sheds its industrial past, even as it has turned into something else entirely.
