The Red Rattler

The Red Rattler is a queer-run creative playground and cultural hub located in Marrickville, Sydney. This not-for-profit, artist-collective venue provides an inspiring space for live performance, music, activism, and community building. The ground-level warehouse exudes a distinctive atmosphere with vintage furnishings, plush red velvet curtains, and a welcoming, gender-diverse environment that celebrates artistic expression and inclusivity.

The venue comprises two distinct spaces: the main theatre accommodates up to 300 standing or 120 seated guests and features full licensing, professional audio and lighting systems, a raised stage, projection screen, and backstage facilities. The upstairs studio serves workshops, rehearsals, and smaller gatherings with a 30-person capacity. The Red Rattler is fully wheelchair accessible with non-gendered restrooms. The venue hosts diverse programming including live music, cabaret, pole dancing, film screenings, talks, and fundraisers.
