Riga's permanent queer venue scene is small. TOP Club, in the city centre, is currently the only continuously open gay nightclub, with two bars and a dance floor. Skapis, a long-running fixture of the community, has reopened after a break and hosts weekend parties with drag and DJs.
No dedicated gay sauna is documented for Riga. Former club addresses such as Golden and XXL, once regarded as fixed anchors of the scene, have since closed, showing how small and changeable the market really is.
During the day, queer travellers tend to rely on generally open-minded cafés in the Old Town rather than dedicated addresses, since Riga doesn't have a distinct queer café scene of any real size.
The community itself stays closely connected, and extra programming mainly appears during the annual Pride week, when temporary venues and pop-up events widen the offer. Riga was the first Baltic city to host EuroPride, which brought international attention to the local community, even though it never translated into a large permanent club scene. Baltic Pride also rotates between Riga, Vilnius, and Tallinn, so the city regularly, though not every year, hosts this larger regional event too.
