Roots Club

Reeperbahn 48 · Hamburg
Edit Entry
Roots Club sits right on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg-St. Pauli, in the loudest stretch of the street. As a classic nightclub, it caters to a broad party crowd through rotating series, from student nights to themed evenings. One fixture on the calendar is "Babylon Clubbing – Men Only," one of the city's bigger gay party series, held regularly at Roots and known well beyond Hamburg for its size and crowd. The club itself acts more as a stage for different promoters than as a single ongoing concept — anyone wanting current dates is best off checking the social media channel directly. Its Reeperbahn location keeps foot traffic going into the early morning, typical for a street that never fully quiets down.

Conversion Treatments in Germany: What Is Banned and Where to Find Counselling

Since 2020, a German federal law bans so-called conversion therapy for under-18s and for adults who consent under coercion or deception. What the law covers, what it does not, and where anonymous counselling is available (as of October 2026).
