Tokonoma occupies a backyard site in Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel, spread across roughly 400 to 1,000 square metres of rooms plus a garden for open-air formats. The club doubles as an art gallery, concept space and event venue, with electronic music at its core.
The programme is run by Tokonoma e.V., which alongside international DJ bookings also gives a stage to the queer party series "Club Bizarre": an evening built around an Espresso Martini happy hour, drag performances and an open, diverse crowd on the dance floor, explicitly hetero-friendly and with a dress code.
Frankfurt's club scene gained a venue in Tokonoma that deliberately sits between art and nightlife. Current dates, ticket information and the full programme are on the website.
