KG Regenbogen e.V. stands as Germany's largest gay-lesbian carnival association, deeply embedded in Düsseldorf's vibrant carnival tradition for over 25 years. Founded in 2000 at the Café-Bistro Wespennest in the old town, it embodies inclusivity with its motto 'Everyone is welcome!' The atmosphere buzzes with colorful energy, spectacular costumes, and infectious party vibes wherever they appear.[1][2]

At their home base, the 'Nähkörbchen' in Kreitenstraße 33, members gather for seasonal kicks-offs on November 11th and monthly get-togethers on the first Friday from September to May. Highlights include dazzling motto floats in the Rose Monday parade, hit session songs like the 'Regenbogencocktail,' and crowning achievements such as providing Düsseldorf's Prince Carnival—currently led by President Andreas Mauska.[2]

The association offers community support and advisory services within the queer scene, amplified by their new 'Superheroes of Diversity' award honoring icons like Rita Süssmuth and Gilbert Baker. It's a space where carnival pomp meets heartfelt celebration of diversity, fostering connection and joy in a welcoming environment.
