Skatehalle Berlin

Skatehalle Berlin sits on the RAW site in Friedrichshain, right by Warschauer Straße. With 1,200 square metres of street course and 400 square metres of bowl and mini-ramp space, plus 2,700 square metres of outdoor area featuring a summer open-air cinema, café and the SBH bar, it ranks among the city's largest indoor skateparks. It is run by the non-profit Skate RAW gGmbH, a merger of Drop In e.V., the 1st Berlin Skateboard Association and Cassiopeia Club. Because proceeds go back into the skate community and the upkeep of the park, the hall also hosts youth culture projects, flea markets, readings, comedy nights and concerts alongside open sessions and courses.

As an event venue, the hall is also rented out for parties, including queer formats such as the ten-hour club night “Techno Sluts – Skatehalle Takeover” or a runway show that press coverage described as deeply inspired by the queer community. Skatehalle Berlin has no dedicated queer programme of its own; the connection comes through individual guest events at a venue otherwise geared towards skateboarding and youth culture.
