Bureau of General Services - Queer Division

The Bureau of General Services – Queer Division (BGSQD) in New York is an independent, all-volunteer queer cultural center, bookstore, and event space hosted within The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center at 208 West 13th Street, Room 210. It offers a welcoming haven for the LGBTQ+ community and allies alike.

Visitors discover a curated selection of queer books, publications, artwork, magazines, and gifts focusing on alternative politics, art, feminism, and LGBTQ+ themes. The space buzzes with events including author readings, performances, film screenings, book discussions, and workshops that promote mindfulness, intellectual curiosity, justice, compassion, and playfulness.
