Hein & Fiete

Hein & Fiete is a central point of contact for the gay and bisexual community in Hamburg, located in the St. Georg district just five minutes from the main train station. The organization serves as both an information center and meeting place, offering free HIV and STI testing, counseling services, and community support. The heart of Hein & Fiete is the gay checkpoint, a welcoming space lovingly restored with 1950s-inspired design that provides comprehensive information on gay and bisexual life in Hamburg.

The checkpoint offers guidance on safer sex practices, leisure activities, and support for various community concerns including violence prevention and health education. Staffed by dedicated volunteers, the center sells condoms, lubricants, and exclusive accessories at affordable prices, with profits supporting prevention work. Hein & Fiete also hosts professional events, self-help groups, and regularly offers pre-sale tickets to major community events. With around 80 volunteers and 5 full-time staff members deeply connected to the local LGBTQ+ scene, the organization is committed to promoting health, well-being, and equality.
