Slow Club on Haslacher Straße is a self-run cultural space, carried by the association "Slow Club – Verein für notwendige kulturelle Maßnahmen e.V." A rotating team of volunteers organises concerts, theatre, readings, film nights and performances here, well outside the mainstream.
The programme is deliberately broad and regularly features queer empowerment content, including concerts billed as "Queer Empowerment Pop" or performances by bands such as Kumbia Queers. Slow Club sees itself as a space where different communities across Freiburg can find room, free of commercial pressure.
