SVE Schwule Väter und Ehemänner

SVE – Schwule Väter und Ehemänner (Gay Fathers and Husbands) – is a self-help group in Essen dedicated to supporting men who discover their homosexuality while married or raising families. The group provides a safe and confidential space for members to share experiences, seek mutual support, and navigate their personal journeys.

Members have experienced their coming-out processes in diverse ways, with some still in the midst of this transformative period. SVE creates an environment where these men can connect with others facing similar circumstances, discuss family dynamics, identity questions, and alternative life paths. Regular meetings foster open dialogue and emotional support among participants.

Operating under the umbrella of Aidshilfe Essen e.V., SVE is part of a well-established network of counseling and support services.
