About Stadion Rote Erde
- Sight
Stadion Rote Erde is one of Dortmund’s most recognizable sports landmarks, set close to the city’s major football complex on Strobelallee. The venue combines a classic stadium feel with a practical, working-sports atmosphere, making it appealing to visitors who value tradition and live competition over spectacle. Its setting gives it a distinctive character: historic, compact, and unmistakably tied to local sporting life.
The stadium is used for athletics training and competition as well as football matches, which gives it a versatile and active identity. Visitors can expect a straightforward layout, covered seating, open standing areas, and a strong sense of proximity to the action. For many, the main highlight is the mix of heritage and everyday use, which makes Stadion Rote Erde feel like a genuine part of Dortmund rather than a staged attraction.
