Beaver Co-op is a women's collective located in Athens' Gazi neighborhood, serving as an inclusive community space for the queer community. Founded by eight women, the venue embodies principles of gender equality and collectivism. By day, Beaver operates as a welcoming café offering coffee, vegan cakes, and savory selections in a relaxed atmosphere. As evening approaches, the space transforms into a vibrant disco venue with a lively social scene. The collective regularly hosts cultural events, including online art exhibitions, fostering artistic and political engagement. The venue is characterized by genuine warmth and solidarity toward all forms of diversity, with accessibility for visitors arriving on foot, by wheelchair, with strollers, or by bike. Situated near the Acropolis and Thissio districts, Beaver has become an essential gathering place for lesbians and queer women visiting or living in Athens, offering both respite and community connection.
