Metz has a small queer scene built largely around the association Couleurs Gaies. The group runs its own bar, La Palette, on Rue des Parmentiers, which acts as the main meeting point for regulars' nights, themed evenings, or just a beer after work.
For a cocktail or dinner, L'Appart on Rue Haute Pierre is a gay and lesbian bar with a relaxed vibe. For dancing, the nightclub L'Endroit is one of the few addresses in the city with a regular party programme. For saunas, Blue Club is the option.
These spots all sit in the city centre and can easily be combined on foot. Unlike bigger cities, Metz has no dedicated gay district lined with bars; instead there are a handful of separate addresses worth seeking out.
Metz's location close to the German border regularly brings in visitors from the Saarland and the Palatinate region, adding to the small scene's audience. Couleurs Gaies also organises regular meetups for different age groups and interests, announced through its own website.
