About the LGBT Scene in Lille

Around Rue Masséna in Vieux-Lille is where Lille's queer scene centers. Le Privilège has been the district's largest gay-friendly bar for over a decade, spread across three floors. Le Big Up Bar, open Tuesday through Sunday, and the newer Le S Gayclub, run by the team behind Sauna Soho, round out the options.

For cruising and sauna visits, there's Sauna Les Bains on Rue de Cambrai, a large venue with several steam rooms, pools and shared spaces. Right by Lille Flandres station sit the cruising sex shop Le Cube, with a cinema area and 24 cabins across 300 square meters, and the sex club Le Sling, set in a former factory with cabins, dark rooms and slings.

The Wazemmes district is known for its alternative, mixed nightlife and its market, though it doesn't have a dedicated gay venue. Lille sits close to the Belgian border and is about 80 minutes from London by Eurostar, or ninety minutes from Paris, which makes it easy to reach for international visitors too. Travelers coming from Germany can reach Lille well via Brussels or direct Thalys trains, without needing to route through Paris. Within the city, the metro moves you quickly between districts. Check current opening hours before visiting, since smaller venues sometimes adjust them seasonally.
