Coimbra has a small but real queer infrastructure: one sauna, Prime Bath on Rua Padre Estêvão Cabral, and one club, Angel's Bar/Club, both located outside the historic old town. The plural 'bars in the old town' cannot be confirmed for the city — only this single venue is verifiable, alongside the sauna on the edge of town.

Riverside walking paths along the Mondego as informal cruising spots 'in good weather' are not credibly sourced; the only reference is an anonymous, crowdsourced cruising site without editorial review, not a journalistic or official source. Cafés with a queer regular crowd near the university cannot be named specifically either.

What is real and active is Rede Ex Aequo, with its own youth chapter in Coimbra offering workshops and meetups for young queer people. A dedicated Coimbra Pride could not be confirmed.

Coimbra's queer scene is therefore modest: one sauna, one club, one active youth organisation — no cruising trails, no old-town bar cluster. For a wider choice, Lisbon and Porto are the nearest larger cities.
